Woodrow W. Horn, 75, of Whiting, died Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Willow Spring Nursing Center in Brick. Born in Choctaw County, Alabama, he had resided in Scotch Plains for 33 years before moving to Whiting 14 years ago. He was a truck driver for 22 years for the City of Summit Sanitation Department before retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Hill City Masons Lodge, Summit. He was an avid fisherman, played cards, loved horses, gardening, golf, a devoted Miami Dolphins fan, and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Woodrow was predeceased by his son, Kevin Horn, in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vanessa L. Horn; son, Christopher Horn; daughter, Tonya & her husband, Rubin Pyatt; brothers: William, Connie, Ervin, & Leroy Horn; sisters: Gertrude Donaldson, Hattie James, Belinda Horn, Lula Mae Horn, & Gladys Horn; and his grandchildren: Lauren, Kevin, Christopher Jr., Amanda, & Peter James. Visitation is Wednesday from 2-4pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Cremation will be private.
