Thomas Syers, 63, of Manchester, died Sunday, February 16 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Lakewood. Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Spotswood and Manalapan before moving to Manchester 27 years ago. Tom loved to paint with oil and acrylics, as well as draw portraits with colored pencils. He enjoyed playing billiards whenever he could. He was a huge Rutgers University football and basketball fan. He is predeceased by his brothers, James and John. He is survived by his sisters, Stella and her husband Donald Krobatsch of Toms River, and his twin Dorothy and her husband John Haspel of Whiting; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation is 9-11 AM Wednesday, February 19th with a service at 11 AM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester 08759. Interment will occur 12 Noon Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in Tom’s name to the Reeve Foundation, 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills NJ 07078.
