Salvatore Friscia 91 of Manchester, NJ passed on Sunday February 14, 2021. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He resided in Bellmore, Massapequa, then Staten Island before moving to Manchester 16 years ago. He assumed responsibility of the family business from his father, Friscia Fish Market on 18th Avenue in Brooklyn, which operated for over 75 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of St John’s Church, Lakehurst. He loved sports and played minor league baseball as a third baseman and was an avid Yankee fan. He was a member of various clubs at Renaissance including the Men’s, Staten Island and Brooklyn Clubs. His most precious time was spent with family, especially Sunday dinners & holidays and traveling with his wife Anna. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Anna, 3 sons, James & his wife Marci, Salvatore & his wife Elvira and Steven, daughter, Jeanette DeGiovanni & her husband Michael, sister, Diane Draghi and 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Anna, James D, Brian, Steven, Alexa, Gianna, Nicolette, Cristian & Salvatore. Visitation is Wednesday February 17 from 4 -7 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Friday February 19, at 9:15 AM at St Luke's Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn.
