John J Currie Jr 66 of Manchester died Sunday morning December 1, 2019 at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Born originally in Paterson, he resided in Brick and Jackson for many years before finally settling down to Manchester. He served in the Air Force and National Guard from 1971-1977 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant as a Security Specialist. John was the President of Lakeside Express, a company he ran with his wife from 1985-2011, at which point he retired to enjoy life. He was an avid boater who loved to spend his summers out on the water. He is predeceased by his wife Margaret of 37 years in 2012. Surviving are his brother Joseph Currie of Jackson, his Sister Janice Hyer of Forked River, his children, George Currie of Forked River, John J Currie III & his wife Danielle of Brick, Melissa Di Dia & her husband_Salvatore of Manchester as well as his grandchildren Tony DiDia, Evan Currie, Aidan Currie, Kaitlyn DiDia, Summer Currie and Blake Currie.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visitation on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral services are Thursday 11:30 AM at the funeral home with entombment to follow at St Anne’s Cemetery, Wall Twp.
