Henry Stanley Jorin Jr, 83, of Manchester, NJ, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 4, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Henry was born on December 14, 1937 in Staten Island, NY to the late Henry and Anne Jorin. He was raised in West Brighton and graduated from McKee High School and received an associate’s degree in accounting from Pace University, Manhattan. A US Army veteran, Henry served from 1959 to 1961 in Maryland as a specialist 4th class in the Signal Corps. Hard worker and steadfast, Henry was a manager for the New York Telephone Company in Manhattan for 34 years. Later, he became the senior vice president of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, St George for 10 years. In 2000 Henry retired and him and his wife, Frances, moved to Manchester, NJ to enjoy their retirement. He was always very active and a member of the first board of the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and Botanical Garden, Livingston. He was a chairman of the Conservative party of Richmond County, president of the Livingston Community Association and a member of the Community Board 1. Henry was also a trustee of St. John’s Church, Lakehurst, NJ. He was an avid reader and the chairperson of a book-discussion group in his home community, Renaissance. Henry always put everyone else first and was a caring and compassionate man. He volunteered with caregivers as a driver transporting seniors to their doctor’s appointments. Him and his wife, Frances loved to travel the world, go to Broadway plays and ballroom dance. They were members of the Staten Island Ballroom Club for 20 years. In his spare time, Henry loved to golf, watch football and spend time with his children, grandchildren and great children. Many described him as a true gentleman. Henry is survived by his beloved wife, Frances of 56 years; one son, Frederick and his wife, Jeanne; two daughters, Monica and her husband, Anthony Fiorentino; Denise and her husband Dr. Brian Schultz and 8 grandchildren, Josh and his wife Jen, Brittany, Mikayla, Marissa, Nicholas, Jillian, Daniella and Gianna; 2 great grandchildren, Lily and Tyler and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Henry was a loving and supportive husband, father, uncle, grandfather (PopPop), great grandfather and friend to all. While Henry will be missed everyday his gifts will continue to be represented in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great children. A special thank you to all the caregivers, nurses and doctors who took amazing care of Henry. Oliverie Funeral Home is making arrangements for a private service now with a memorial gathering scheduled for the future. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Henry’s memory, may be made to The Seton Foundation for Learning, 315 Arlene Street Staten Island, NY 10314.
