Evelyn (Lynn) F. Dube Sinisgallo Giglia died Friday December 4 at Community Medical Center, Toms River after a brief illness. Born in Newark, she resided in several states, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Las Vegas Nevada, before moving to Leisure Knoll, Manchester in 2006.
She was an alumnus of Linden High School and Union County Technical Institute in Scotch Plains, NJ, graduating as a licensed practical nurse. Lynn worked in the Operating Room and OB/GYN units at Rahway Hospital for almost 15 years, and was proud to hold her licensure as an LPN for the past 44 years. She also worked as a dental assistant for the late Dr. Bruce Dunlop in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania for several years before moving to Las Vegas, where she worked as the manager of Tuesday Morning retailers.
She was a lifelong bowler, and was grateful for her friends in numerous bowling leagues, most recently at Ocean Lanes in Lakewood NJ. As a devoted Collie owner, she trained numerous therapy dogs and had treasured her relationship with other members of the Collie Rescue League of Northern New Jersey. She participated annually in the Gathering at Sunnybank, benefiting the Collie Health Foundation. She also supported the Volunteer Auxiliary for Animal Shelters at their food pantry in Toms River, New Jersey.
She was a volunteer in Our Special Klub programs in Ocean County and enjoyed the many gatherings and outings. She has spent the last several years attending events with her granddaughter Alyssa, and is where she connected with her companion Blasi, as they shared many memorable times together and bonded as a family.
Lynn was predeceased by her parents Myron H. and Evelyn F. (Reed) Dube, and husband Philip Giglia. She is survived by her sister Carol A. Quinn, and husband Vincent; her son James M. Sinisgallo and wife Alison; daughter, Diana Lambert and 3 grandchildren, Alyssa, Ryan, and Jared; Stepsons Allan and wife Susan; Richard and wife Stephanie, and their extended families; best friend for almost 60 years Linda Bianco; beloved companion Blasi DiGirolamo and daughter Joanne; and several nieces and nephews. Lynn will be laid to rest alongside Phil, who she shared a loving 36-year marriage, at the Brigadier General William C Doyle NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Arneytown, NJ on Friday December 11 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Lynn’s memory with a donation to Our Special Klub New Jersey 41 Green Island Road Toms River NJ 08753 or Collie Rescue League of Northern New Jersey https://www.facebook.com/Collie-Rescue-of-Northern-New-Jersey-167390396653795/.
