Obituary for William Edward "Chubby" Phillips

William E. “Chubby” Phillips, 45, of Toms River, died suddenly, Monday, March 2, 2020 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Jersey City, he lived most of his life in Toms River. He was a truck driver for Shore Point Distributor, in Freehold, and was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed sports, video games, and participated with the Special Olympics Flag Football Tournament Snow Bowl. He was predeceased by his father, William H. Phillips, and his granddaughter, Mirah Phillips. He is survived by his sons: Devon, Marcus, Jonathan, & Seth Phillips; daughter, Robyn Evaldi; mother, Edith Gbeku; brothers: Steven Phillips & Kevin Robinson; and grandchildren, Riley Rodman-Phillips & Quinn Evaldi-Hayward. Cremation is private. Memorial gathering is Tuesday, March 10, from 6-8pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester.
