Obituary for William Kuchar

William Kuchar, 88 of Manchester (The Renaissance) died Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Harrogate Retirement Community in Lakewood. Born and raised in Jersey City, he spent 35 years in Clark before moving to Manchester in 2004. He attended St Michael’s College of Vermont on a basketball scholarship where he met his wife, Joan. He worked as a field supervisor for PSE&G and in 1965 he opened his own business, "All Star Sports Center" which he and his wife operated for 35 years with 6 locations. He served as a Councilman in Clark for 6 years, started a baseball and softball league with a travel program and coached Varsity Basketball at St Mary’s HS St. Joseph's HS and Wardlaw Hartridge. His book, “Coaching High School Basketball” was published by McGraw Hill in 2005. He retired to "The Renaissance" in Manchester where he was President of the Men’s Club, a Trustee and founder of several committees. He is predeceased by his beloved brother Alex. Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Joan M Kuchar, brothers, Robert and Michael, sister, Janet and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Graveside services are Tuesday 10:30 AM at The Chapel at St Gertrude's Cemetery.
