Obituary for William A Kenny

William A Kenny 91 died Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Encompass Health Rehabilitation, Toms River. Born in East Orange he was raised in Ramsey and moved to Manchester in 1961. He served in the Navy for 20 years, retiring December 1st 1966. He began a second career as a foreman at Reade Manufacturing, Manchester, retiring in 1986. He was a lifetime member of the Lakewood Elks and is a Plank Owner of the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, DC. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, horse racing and watching westerns on TV. He was devoted to his beloved wife Joyce, until her passing in 1988. He is predeceased by his son Charles T Cupo in 1985. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara & Stephen Slotnick, Mary Jo & Kenneth Disharoon, Joyce & David Bird, sister & brother-in-law, Barbara & William Woodruff, predeceased by his sister Janet in 2018; 9 loving grandchildren, Thomas, Rebecca & Brian Slotnick, Melissa, Kimberly, Brandon & Lisa Bird and Kristofer & Kelly Disharoon, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation is Monday 11 AM – 1 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester with interment with military honors to follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
