Obituary for Valeta S Patrick-Tucker

Valeta S Patrick-Tucker, 54, of Jackson died Monday, January 15, 2024, at her home. Born in Kingston, Jamaica she lived in Poughkeepsie, NY where she met her husband Leon Tucker, before moving to Jackson, NJ. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Bartley Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Jackson for 4 years. She was always lending a helping hand, from cooking to doing outreach feeding programs. Valeta was a fantastic cook making many Caribbean dishes was her specialty. She enjoyed shopping usually for gadgets for her kitchen or kids but also to stay fashionable. She loved music, listening to Celine Dion and Keyshia Cole was her jam and singing Jamaican songs. She avidly kept in touch with world events and news. She would get any local news before anyone in Jamaica. She was always about her kids; sons, Shavane, Shavone, Shamarie, daughters, Sybonnie, Shasha-Kay, Shadell, Shanay, and grandchildren, Quadir, Dimario, Arianna and Shavana. She loved her sisters Larrel, Diana, Sherol, Jennifer, and Betty brothers Patrick, Leeden, and Yatta dearly. Visitation is Wednesday, Feb., 28th 10:30 am-12:30pm with a 12pm service at Oliverie Funeral Home, 125 S Cooks Bridge Road, Jackson with burial to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
