Tommie Spearman 77 of Toms River passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Wilmington, NC, he lived in Hyattsville, MD before moving to Toms River in 1999. He was employed for 25 years as a Police Detective with the NYPD before retiring in 1989. He belonged to both the Patrolman’s Benevolent Association and the Detective’s Endowment Association. He was a loyal NY Yankees fan who loved his family and watching cop shows. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings. Surviving is his loving wife of 25 years, Carolyn (Martin) Spearman, 4 daughters, Cindy Maxwell-Spearman of New York, Tamra Enoch of Queens, NY, Tashawn Sutherland of Brooklyn, NY and Tanika McClellan of Manchester, and 2 sons, Tommie Spearman of Queens, NY and Tavon Spearman of Manahawkin. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation is Friday, March 11, from 9-11:00 am at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester with a funeral service being offered at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River.
