Obituary for Thomas Collucci

Thomas Collucci, 83, of Toms River died Wednesday March 2, 2022 at home. Born in Newark, NJ, he resided in Bloomfield for 55 years before moving to Toms River 22 years ago. He served in the United States Air Force as Senior Master Sergeant from 1957 -1965 and later returned to active reserve duty during Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield, retiring highly decorated in 1999. He also served as a linguist in Intelligence for the National Security Agency. Mr. Collucci worked for 28 years in the Essex County Sheriff’s Department in Newark, retiring as Captain in 2001. He was known as a dependable, trustworthy, fair person and was highly respected by his colleagues. He is predeceased by his son Robert in 2021, and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alba Rose, 3 sons, Steven (Jennifer), Thomas (Dina), and Michael (Jill) and a daughter Suzanne Cospito (Kenneth), and 13 grandchildren, Thomas, Karissa, Nicole, Alexandra, Vincent, Marco, Julia, Alina, Michael, Jenna, Lisa, Alex and Josh. Visitation is Monday from 4 to 8 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Tuesday 9:15 AM at St Luke’s Church, Toms River with interment to follow at Brigadier Gen Wm C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
