Thomas M. Amato, 67, of Crestwood Village V section of Whiting, died Friday, January 29, 2021 at home. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in North Easton, MA for 4 years, and in Old Bridge from 1991 – 2008 before moving to Whiting in 2020. Throughout his 48-year career, he managed both a securities vault and Foreign Exchange services for various banks before retiring from BNY Mellon in 2016. He enjoyed horse racing, saltwater fishing, & loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Thomas was predeceased by his first wife, Elayne, in 2012; his parents, Michael & Mildred Amato; his brother, Tony Amato, in 2020 and grandson, Joey, in 2011. He is survived by his wife, Rosanne Amato; sons: Michael & Samantha, Thomas C. & Jennifer, and Kevin & Sarah; brother, Matthew Amato; grandchildren: Jordan, John, Jake, Ellie, David, & Madelyn; and great granddaughter, Eliana. Visitation is Tuesday, 7-9pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Interment will be Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.
