Susan Carega 101 of Toms River died Friday January 3, 2020 at Hampton Ridge, Toms River. Born in Valguinara, Sicily, Italy, she resided in Old Bridge for 20 years and then Marlboro for 8 years before recently moving to Toms River. She was a seamstress for many years and worked for Feinstein Dress Makers in Brooklyn for 15 years before retiring in 1973. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing, traveling, music and watching her soap operas- “The Young & Restless” and “The Bold & Beautiful”. She is predeceased by her husband, John in 1981. Surviving are her children, Mario & wife Nereida, Raymond & wife JoAnn, Loretta Panassidi & husband Salvatore, sister, Anita Vitella and 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation is Tuesday 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Funeral Liturgy is Wednesday 10 AM at St John’s Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island.
