Sergio DeRobertis, 83, of Manchester, died Monday, November 25, 2019 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Molfetta, Italy, he had lived in Rutherford for 23 years before moving to the Toms River/Manchester area in 1996. He was a long shoreman mechanic for SeaLand at Port Elizabeth, NJ. He was a member of the Toms River Elks, and enjoyed cruises, landscaping, was very handy, (as he built his own deck), and often donated to St Jude Children’s Hospital. He is survived by his son, Robert DeRobertis; daughters: Eccelsa DeRobertis, and Antonia Gelis, and son in law, Matthew, daughters in law: Dana DeRobertis & Diana DeRobertis; sisters: Nunzia Circonciso, Giuseppina LaForgia, & Giovanna DeCandia; grandchildren: Matthew, Emily, Daniel, Julia, & Frankie; and his former wife, Rosaria DeRobertis. Visitaion is Friday, 2-6 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, with a prayer service at 5 pm. Cremation will be private.
