Obituary for Rosalie Bairan

Rosalie Bairan, 90 of Whiting, passed away Thursday December 10, 2020 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, she resided in Beachwood for over 25 years before moving to Whiting 7 years ago. She worked for Shoprite in Bayville for 13 years before retiring in 2015. Known lovingly by many names: Mama, Great Mama, Gram, Great Gram and Titi. She enjoyed cooking for anyone who visited or just stopped by, especially during the holidays. It was her way of showing her love. You couldn't turn down a meal at her table, and you never wanted to because her cooking was unmatched. She never cooked by a recipe, even in her creative desserts. She loved to dance, was always the one to initiate family volleyball games, enjoyed dominoes, and loved playing charades at family gatherings. Besides a delicious meal, a visit to her home would always include laughter, creating memories, understanding, compassion, and a smiling face. She was intelligent, good with numbers, and a great listener. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1991. Surviving are her children, Letticia Rivera and husband Paul, Rebecca Lombardo and husband Pete, Robert Jr. and husband Dennis, Robert Allen and wife Shirley, Doris Bairan, Rosalie Wurmbrand and husband Michel, sisters, Minerva Rojas and Golie Bobe, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday 1-4 p.m. with a 3 p.m. service at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
