Nunzia “Nancy” Longo, 87, of Toms River, NJ died Wednesday March 2, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, NJ. Born in Roccapalumba, Sicily, Italy she immigrated with her family to Brooklyn, NY at age 16 and graduated from New Utrecht High School. She lived in Brooklyn until 1971 and moved to Middletown, NJ with her husband and family until 1998. She then lived in Toms River for 23 years. She worked for Logan’s Dry Cleaners in Middletown, NJ for many years, retiring in 1990. She loved telling stories, making people laugh, and cooking her lasagna that was loved by all. Upon moving to Toms River, she sang in the Choir at her Lake Ridge community, and also enjoyed the Italian American Club, bingo and movie nights. She is predeceased by her husband Salvatore, in 2019, a union that lasted more than 60 years. Surviving are her children and their families: John M Longo & Kimberly Morel, Robert J Longo & Karen, Valerie Longo & Robert Steen, and Linda Slomin & Donald; grandchildren, Casey, Katie, Corey, Tyler & Lucas, and great grandson, Kai. Visitation is Sunday 4-8 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Monday 9:15 AM at St Luke’s Church, Toms River with entombment to follow at St Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood.
