Michael A Kozyra, 73, of Manchester died Monday, October 10, 2022, at Deborah Heart & Lung Center, Browns Mills. Born in Elizabeth he was raised in South River then moved to Jamesburg until he retired to Manchester in 1992. He served in the Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade. He worked at Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in New Brunswick as a Lieutenant for 23 years before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Mayor’s Vet Advisory Committee for Manchester Township. He enjoyed horseracing and casinos, and loved to take trips with his family. He could talk to anyone and made friends everywhere and loved catching up with fellow Vietnam veterans at the reunions. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda J Kozyra, son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Lisa Kozyra, son, Ryan Kozyra, brother & his wife Barry & Cheryl Kozyra, 3 grandchildren, Caylyne, Megan, and Ryan. Visitation is Monday 2-4-7-9pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Tuesday 10:30am at St John’s RC Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
