Obituary for MaryJo Laux

Mary Jo Laux, 85, of Cinnaminson, NJ passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Hampton Ridge Healthcare, Toms River. Born in Kingston, PA, she has been residing in Cinnaminson since 1963. Mary Jo graduated from the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing (Kingston, PA) in 1957, and later earned Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from St. Joseph University (Philadelphia, PA). She had worked as a registered nurse for many years in many hospitals, including Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) and Hahnemann University Hospital, and then as a self-employed medical insurance case manager, before retiring. She was also an Elder of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and volunteered at the local women’s shelter.
Mary Jo was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, providing much love and support. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family (particularly her grandchildren) and friends, and cooking (too much food so everyone had leftovers). She was also a long-time fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and was known to hit the Atlantic City casinos every now and then.
She was predeceased by her husband’s Samuel “Merv” Browne (in 2014) and Albert Pecchioli (in 1977). Mary Jo is survived by her sons: Joel Pecchioli and his wife Victoria (Toms River, NJ), Allan Pecchioli (Palmyra, NJ), and Jed Pecchioli and his wife Mindi (Clearwater Beach, FL); stepchildren Louis Zayon and his wife Melissa (Philadelphia, PA), David Browne and his wife Debbie (Loveland, OH), and Lucinda Brown (FL); and 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Cremation will be private. A Memorial Gathering will be determined at a later date. In memory of Mary Jo (and her best friend, Bentley), donations can be made to the S.A.V.E Rescue Center (Toms River, NJ).
