Mary returned to New Jersey to reside at Sunrise Senior Living of Jackson NJ in 2019. Mary dedicated much of her life to education. She worked as a teacher early in her career, then as a tutor, typing teacher, and resume consultant - always helping people to be better. Mary had no children, but was the favorite Aunt and Godmother to many. She adored her nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Teaching them, doting on them, and taking them on trips was a great joy in her life. Mary cared for her father, William T. Reid in her home during his final years. Mary was a deeply religious person. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Southern Pines, NC. She was previously a member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Hurst, where she was very active in many ways, including helping with bookkeeping and serving as the co-chair of the Perpetual Adoration Ministry with her husband Alphonse. Mary was predeceased in 2005 by her husband Alphonse. She was also predeceased by her sister Mildred Kruger, her brother Thomas H. Reid, her half sister Dianna Young and her half brother Albert (Al) Domogauer. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Reid Cutinello, half sister Ann Domogauer Peranto, half brother William Reid, more than 20 nieces and nephews, and a growing number of grand nieces and nephews. The family has chosen to hold a memorial service at a later date, when family and friends can celebrate Mary's life safely.
