Martin L Boumpani Sr. 82 of Manchester, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday March 17, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Martin was born on June 17, 1939 in Plainfield, NJ and resided most of his life in North Plainfield, NJ before moving to Manchester, NJ in 2012. In his early years he was the Automotive Manager for Sears-Roebuck and Company in Livingston, NJ. He was then employed as Head Mechanic at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, NJ for 26 years. A true lover of his country, he served proudly in the United States Army. He completed his basic and advanced infantry training at Fort Benning, Georgia from 1958-1959. From 1959-1961 he was a member of the First Battlegroup 18th Infantry Division serving in Berlin, Germany. Another great honor was to be chosen by his Company Commander as his personal driver. Our Dad was one of the hardest workers, always doing what he could to provide the best for his Family. A man who can always be counted on to help a family member or friend in need. He always found time in his day to attend and encourage us at our many activities during our younger years whether it was Cub Scouts, Pop Warner football and cheerleading, or high school baseball and softball. He taught us well. “Take care of each other” was one his many quotes. Everyone who knew him knew his love of beautiful cars. His hobbies included attending classic car shows, crabbing, hunting and taking care of his yard. He is predeceased by his wife Annabelle (Abruzzese) in 2004. Surviving are his son Martin L. Boumpani Jr. and his wife Flora. Daughters Gina Ward and her husband Jeffrey, and Dana D’Angelo and her husband Tony. Brother Neil Boumpani and his wife Dawn. Two Grandchildren Michael and Matthew Ward. His partner Julie Reilly who lovingly and selflessly took excellent care of him throughout their time together. Visitation is Tuesday 4-8 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Service is Wednesday 11:30 AM at Brigadier Gen Wm C Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers please make donations to either the Wounded Warrior Project 370 7th Ave New York, NY 10001 or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
