Obituary for Marilyn A Gobel

Marilyn A Gobel 89 of Manchester died peacefully at home on Wednesday November 9, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family who kept a close and devoted watch until she entered eternal rest. Born in Union she was raised & resided in Elizabeth before moving to Toms River in 2000. Her love of the shore brought her to Spring Lake and then to Toms River. Miss Gobel worked at Park Plastics in Linden where she was chosen to represent the company on the TV show “What’s My Line” Easter Sunday 1963. She stumped the panel and won $50 with her unusual occupation of testing water pistols. She worked as a receptionist for Attorney’s Hehl & Romankow and later for Union County Buick in Elizabeth before she retired. She is a communicant of St John’s Church, Lakehurst. Miss Gobel adored traveling with her companion Harold Pierson and considered their trip to Monaco the highlight of their many excursions. She is predeceased by brothers, Bernard, Robert & Richard Gobel, sister, Dotti Gobel and companion Harold Pierson. Surviving is, 4 sisters, Lorraine Rosell, Gertrude Jakub, Lynn Kaiser and Nancy Higgins and her sister-in-law, Rosemarie Gobel and many nieces & nephews. She will be missed by her cherished second family Charles & Pamela Gilligan and their children Tara Thompson & Megan Winchester. Graveside service is12 PM Monday November 14, 2022 at St Gertrude Good Shepherd Chapel, Colonia.
