Marie R Solomone 84 of Toms River died Friday February 5, 2021 at Spring Oak Assisted Living in Forked River. Born in Bronx, NY she resided in Whitestone, NY for 48 years before moving to Toms River 5 years ago. She worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Legal Dept in Long Island for many years before retiring in 1998. She was also a school crossing guard, taught Sunday School for St Luke’s Church in Whitestone, NY, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with family, enjoyed music and singing, and playing games–to win-with her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years Ralph J in 2018. Surviving are her children, Joann Gardner & her husband Howard, Denise Holland & her husband Greg, and Ralph J Jr & his wife Lisa, and 7 grandchildren, Gregory & his wife Patricia, Timothy, Michael, Nicole, Matthew, Morgan and Kristina. Visitation is Wednesday 4-8 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Thursday 9:30 AM at St Barnabas Church, Bayville with interment to follow at Brigadier Gen Wm C Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, North Hanover.
