After a long bout with multiple illnesses, Marie Raia, 86, died peacefully at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ on January 30, 2020, with her family by her side. Born in New York City, NY on November 24, 1933, she resided in Woodbridge, NJ for 32 years before moving to Manchester, NJ in 1998. She was a master gardener at the Woodbridge Garden Club. She enjoyed playing mahjong, sewing, knitting, arts and crafts, and dabbling in computers and technology. Although she became tiny and frail, she was tough and courageous right to the end, reminding us all of how precious life is. She is survived by Sal Raia, her loving husband of 66 years, her four children, Donna, Bobby, Rosemary and Salvatore, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation is Monday 3-7 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Tuesday 10 AM at St John’s Church Lakehurst with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
