Marie C Maurer, 89, of Toms River passed away Monday March 16, 2020 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Union City, she and her husband Joseph built a house in Lakewood in 1951. She resided there most of her life before moving to Toms River in 2001. She was employed many years by Acme Markets of Jackson, Lakewood and Princeton Junction before retiring in 1988. She enjoyed playing bingo, bunco, square dancing, gardening and feeding and watching her hummingbirds. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1978, and her brother James Iorio of Winterhaven, FL. Surviving her are her sister, Elizabeth Ottmer of Toms River, her son, Michael of Wareham, MA, her daughters, Bonnie Jo Lynch & her husband Michael of New Egypt and Barbara Lee Doyle & her husband James of Waretown. She had five grandchildren, Marie and her husband Anthony Rao of Petersburg, WV, Colleen Lynch, Surf City, NJ, Kelly Doyle of Forked River, NJ, Michael Lynch Jr and his wife Tracey of Manahawkin, NJ, and Jaclyn and her husband Michael Watson of Forked River, NJ. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren, Bryanna, Rebecca, Aidan, Krystina, Layne, Kainoa, Marley and Elayna.
