Obituary for Lawrence Cordero

Lawrence Cordero 95 of Leisure Knoll, Manchester died Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Throop, PA, he grew up in Newark. Larry resided in Nutley from 1966-1993; he then moved down to Manchester. Larry was an Army veteran of World War II. Larry was employed for 34 years as a Longshoreman with the Local #1235, International Longshoremen's Union working out of Port Newark before retiring in 1991. Larry was a parishioner of St John's Catholic Church, Lakehurst and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Council # 10022, the Italian-American Club, and the Veterans Club all of Leisure Knoll. He was an avid hunter and played pool all his life. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Marion (Nunes) Cordero, daughter, Barbara LaMotta & her husband Ron, of Winter Garden, FL, son, Bob Cordero and his wife, Pat of Wayne, 3 grandchildren, Bobby, Kristin, Tara and her husband Bobby, and 2 great-grandchildren, Gisele and Hudson. Visitation is Friday from 2-5 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Saturday at 10:00 am at St John's Church, Lakehurst with entombment to follow at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
