Joseph John Przywara,76, Carolina Shores, NC died on March 28, 2022.
Born in Scranton, PA on June 7, 1945, he was a son of the late Stanley Przywara and Bridget Koshinski Przywara. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Stanley, Louis, and Theodore.
Joseph graduated from West Scranton High School in 1963. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Because of his training in the Air Force in Food & Sanitation, he was employed by the New Jersey State Department of Health as a Senior Rabies Warden for 4 years. From the New Jersey State Department of Health, he moved on to the Ocean County Health Department where he worked for 35 years retiring in 2007 as the Public Health Coordinator. He continued public service life in his off hours serving for 28 years on the Plumsted Township Planning Board (New Egypt, NJ) and 14 years as an elected official on the Plumsted Township Committee; 12 years serving as Deputy Mayor. He moved to Carolina Shores in 2007. Continuing his love for public service in July 2007, he was appointed to the Carolina Shores Planning Board. Not long after that, he was elected to the Carolina Shores Board of Commissioners. He served 12 years as a Commissioner, 10 years Mayor Pro Tem. In November 2021 Joe was elected as Mayor of the Town of Carolina Shores.
Surviving is his wife, Stacey Werthwein Przywara; son, Joshua Przywara, Toms River, NJ; and a sister, Elizabeth Fleckenstein, Danbury, CT. Joe is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and a great-niece and many, many friends that he considered family. Memorial Gathering is Saturday June 4, 2022 at 10:30-12:00 PM with a 12 PM Service at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester.
