Joseph Chvasta 96 of Jackson died Wednesday April 6, 2022 at Bartley Health Care, Jackson. Born in Senecaville, OH he resided in Clifton for 14 years before moving to Manchester in 1987. He worked for Metal Fab in Vernon Valley for 30 years before retiring in 1987. He served in the Army during WWII from 1944-1946. He was a member of the Leisure Knoll Fishing Club, Cookie Jar Club, Beautification Committee and the Hollow Rod & Gun Club in Clifton. He is predeceased by his wife Mary in 2016. Surviving is his sister, Julia Groger and her family, Sister-in-law, Barbara Lash, Nieces, Denise Kane & Karen Lash, Nephews, William R Lash, Robert Chvasta, Daniel Grabiec & Daniel Lash, and Great nephew Patrick Kane and many more nieces and nephews. Visitation is Sunday 1-5 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Monday 10 AM at St Mary Russian Orthodox Church, Jackson with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Mary’s Russian Orthodox Church 316 Cassville Rd Jackson., NJ 08527.
