Obituary for John P Ranson

John P. Ranson, 53, of Eatontown, NJ died Sunday, March 31, 2024, surrounded by his family in Manahawkin, NJ. Born in Quincy, MA, he resided in Manchester, NJ for many years before moving to Eatontown, NJ 20 years ago. After graduating from Monsignor Donovan High School, he earned his BA from Villanova University in 1992. He worked for Greener Corp in Bayville for 15 years as an outside salesman, before getting sick in 2023. As a historical enthusiast, he enjoyed visiting many museums and historical sites with his wife and daughter and when traveling he toured many Civil War battlefields. He was an avid chess player and a lifelong fan of the Villanova Basketball team, and the Philadelphia Phillies. He especially enjoyed family gatherings. He loved music and attending concerts. He especially enjoyed Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Paul McCartney, and Irish Pub music. He enjoyed family time with his daughter at softball games, Daddy–Daughter dances, LBI Kite Festival, trips to Disney and Hershey Park. Surviving is his wife of 20 years, Joanne, daughter, Angela Mary Ranson, siblings, Joseph M Ranson (Joan), William Ranson (Barbie), Robert Ranson (Katrina), Julia M Ranson & James Schaub, Mary C Driggers (David) and Patricia Ranson and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is Thursday 4-8 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Friday 10 AM at St Joseph’s Church, Toms River with interment to follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
