John A Berescik Sr. 79 of Leisure Ridge, Manchester died Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Born in Duquesne, PA, he resided in Union for 20 years, and in Toms River for 24 years before moving to Manchester 4 years ago. A graduate of Irvington Tech in 1961, he was employed with the Local #25, Sheet Metal Workers Union, Carlstadt for over 40 years before retiring in 2000. In his earlier years, he played baseball once earning a try-out for the Major League, Pittsburgh Pirates. He also enjoyed bowling and watching the New York Giants. While living in Union, he coached a girls softball team for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Lorraine (Coppola) Berescik, a son, John A Jr. (Johnnie B.) of Lake Como, 2 daughters, EvaMarie Berescik of Manchester and Kimberly Prosceo of Manahawkin, 2 sisters, Pauline Kecmer and MaryJane Gordon, and his cherished granddaughter, Nicole Prosceo. Visitation is Sunday 1-4 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Service is Monday 11 AM at the funeral home with entombment to follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
