Irma Rose Abbey, 92, of Toms River, NJ died peacefully on Wednesday May 18, 2022 surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Raised in South Orange and a graduate of Columbia High School, she and her husband of 72 years raised their family In Florham Park. After Irma retired from Allstate Insurance Company in Basking Ridge, she and her husband moved to the Lake Ridge community in Toms River. Irma was predeceased by her beloved husband Herbert in March 2021. She was an active member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brick Township and enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her four children: Greg Abbey & Laura Kitts, Susan Abbey & her husband John Koran, Nancy Ardolino & her husband Joseph, and Pamela Pellichero & her husband Michael. She also leaves her seven granddaughters Emily, Abbey, Samantha, Amber, Hannah, Kelsey & Erika and five great grandsons, James, Liam, Lucas, Louis & Reed. Cremation will be private. A memorial service will be held on June 11, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Brick Township, NJ.
