Obituary for Helen T Farrell

Helen T. Farrell 86, of Leisure Knoll, Manchester died Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Aristacare at Manchester after a prolonged illness. Born in Jersey City, she married her high school sweetheart, Frank and raised their family in Old Bridge for 36 years before moving to Manchester in 1998. She was employed for 20 years as a Deputy Clerk for the Township of Old Bridge before retiring in 1996. She was a parishioner of St John’s Catholic Church, Lakehurst.

She loved reading, cooking and making cakes for her family. Spending time with her family was most important, especially at the beach, in Maine or at their home in the Poconos where she fed the deer, picked blueberries and had family visit. From childhood until her last days she had a famous sweet tooth and was nicknamed ‘Cookie’. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with “her Frank” who was her best friend of 66 years.

She is survived by her husband Frank and her children, Pat Flannery and her husband, Jim of Bridgewater; Frank Farrell of South Amboy; Helen O’Connor and her husband, Rich of Hillsborough; and Linda Reid of Jackson. Also surviving is a sister, Kathleen Losardo of Beachwood, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, William and Helen Martin, her 2 sisters, Mary Gormley and Patricia Crawford and her brother Billy Martin.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions by the State, a private viewing will be held at Oliverie Funeral Home in Manchester with a graveside funeral service being held at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
