Francesca Attardo, 92 of Manchester, died peacefully on Saturday March 19th, 2022 at Community Medical Center of Toms River. Born in Palermo, Sicily, she came to the US in 1948 and resided in Lakewood for 37 years before moving to Manchester in 2001. She wintered in Boca Raton, FL for 22 years. She was employed as a seamstress most of her life and worked in New York City and Lakewood for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She enjoyed cooking & baking especially her Spatini and “S” Cookies and fresh sauce and meatballs every Sunday. She played bingo and was a member of the Women’s Club in Boca Raton, FL. She enjoyed Italian Music and dancing especially the “Chicken Dance”. Most important to her was spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her son, Ciro Attardo in 2021. Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Rosario “Sam”, son, Philip Attardo, daughters, Maria Parise & husband Donald, Josephine Provencher & husband Thomas, brother, Salvatore Dina, sisters, Giuseppina Lombardo and Phyllis Conti and 11 grandchildren, Dr. Don, Dr. Dan, Dennis, Melissa, Cory, Ashley, Christopher, Christine, Alexis, Rosario and Thomas and 5 great grandchildren, Courtney, Addison, Grace, Sophia and Maya. Visitation is Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral liturgy is Friday 10 AM at St Joseph’s Church, Toms River with entombment to follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
