Obituary for Filippo D'Angelo

Filippo D’Angelo, 66, of Holiday City Section of Berkeley Twp., passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in the comfort of his home. Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, he had resided in Hasbrouck Heights for 20 years before moving to Toms River 15 years ago. He was a funny, tough and proud man. One of Filippo’s passions was owning pizzeria restaurants and always working hard for his family. He was a huge soccer fan and his favorite team was Inter Milan, in Italy. He often traveled to Italy to visit with family; he adored his grandchildren, and loved spending quality time with family. Filippo was predeceased by his father, Salvatore D’Angelo. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Filippa D’Angelo; his daughters Grazia D’Angelo and fiancé Thomas Kross; Serafina and husband Michael Rizzo, Jr.; and his son, Salvatore D’Angelo and husband Craig Ferdinand; grandchildren: Elaina, Justin, Anthony and Mikayla; mother, Grazia D’Angelo; brothers: Antonino D’Angelo, and Michele D’Angelo; and sisters: Nunzia LoPiccolo, and Mariella Patti. Visitation is Tuesday, 4-8 pm, at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Wednesday, 11 am, at St. Justin’s Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. Interment will follow to St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
