Esther E. Donaldson 81, of Leisure Knoll, Manchester died Tuesday, November 26, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Lackawanna, PA, she lived in Piscataway, Middlebush, and the Shark River Hills section of Neptune, NJ before moving to Manchester 20 years ago. She also owned and lived in her summer home in Ocean Beach Unit 3, NJ for 25 years where she created many loving memories for her entire family. She was employed as a school teacher at St Veronica’s School, Howell prior to her retirement. She was a parishioner of St John’s Church, Lakehurst. She also volunteered at the People’s Pantry, Toms River, She is predeceased by her husband, James E. Donaldson Sr.and by her son, James E. Donaldson Jr. both of which passed away in 2010. Surviving are 2 daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Dr Noel Elgut of Florida, Patricia and Mark Posen of Howell, her sister, Geraldine Breig of Spring Lake, and 5 grandchildren, twins, Dr. Daniel Elgut and Anne & husband Dr. Cody Ott, Andrew & fiancé Alyssa Scavo, Sarah, and Caroline, and a great-grandson, Lincoln. A memorial mass will be offered on Monday, December 9, at St John’s Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst at 11:00 am with inurnment of cremains to follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Special Olympics of New Jersey, 1 Eunice Kennedy-Shriver Way, Lawrenceville, NJ 08645.
