Elaine M Grasso 79 of The Renaissance at Manchester passed away quietly at home on Thursday June 23, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born October 20, 1942 in Elizabeth to the late Julius (Tom) & Marie Reede. She resided in Union and graduated from Union HS in 1960 and lived in Roselle for 40 years; where they brought their children up, Michael & Patricia, before moving to Manchester in 2002. She & her husband Rich were married August 18, 1962 at Christ the King Church in Hillside. Elaine had many jobs in her lifetime, starting with JJ Newbury’s at age 17, to many wonderful years with Drs. Matthews & West in Roselle Park as the Account Receivable Manager, for over 20 years before retiring in 2004. She was treated there like one of their family members. She and her husband co-owned Tee Shirt Heaven in Roselle for a few years. Elaine coached her daughter’s youth softball team. She was member of the Red Hat Society and the Bocce Ball League in Renaissance and the Board of Recreation in Roselle. She was a parishioner of St Joseph’s Church, Toms River. Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Richard L, son, Michael Grasso, daughter, Patricia Buono & her husband Michael, a brother, Richard Reede & his wife Eleanor and 5 grandchildren, Justin & his fiancé Bailey, Cori & her significant other, Anthony, Christopher, Andrew, & Joseph, sister-in-law, Jean Ruf & late husband George, nephew James Ruf & wife Nancy, nieces Donna Poulos & husband Nick, Cathy Golubski, 2 great nieces, Sarah Buckley & husband Steve, Kelly Mackowiecz & husband Marc and their children and numerous cousins. Memorial Gathering is Wednesday 8:30-9:30 AM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester with10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St Gertrude's Mission Church, Island Heights.
