Obituary for Eileen P Dolphin
Eileen Patricia Dolphin (née Gleason), 89, of Manchester, New Jersey, passed away on February 2, 2023, in Whiting, New Jersey.
Eileen was born to John Gleason and Ellen Forgarty on June 30, 1933, in Gowanda, New York. She married Edward Lee Dolphin, Sr. in 1952, and they began their family in the Bronx, New York. The family moved to New Jersey in 1964, where Eileen spent the rest of her life.
Eileen received her Bachelor of Arts in nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She then worked as a registered nurse until her retirement in 1999. Some of her employment includes Crum & Foster and Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey. While living in Leisure Village West, Eileen was the charter member and President of the Irish American Club, the Red Hat Society, and the Nightingales. She also enjoyed playing parcheesi and rummikub with her friends in the community.
Eileen is predeceased by her former husband, Edward Lee Dolphin, Sr., her daughter Maureen Ellen Dolphin, and her sisters Kathleen Brennan and Joanne Meaney. Eileen is survived by her children, including Patricia Anne Hartung, Eileen Lerro, Edward Lee Dolphin, Sr. (Spouse Dawn Dolphin), and Joanne Ryan; her grandchildren, including Eileen Patricia Blessinger, Elizabeth Marie Conroy, Katelyn Nuckols (spouse Stuart Nuckols), and Edward Lee Dolphin III; and her great-grandchildren, including Claudia Nuckols.
Eileen will be greatly missed by her friends in the community and her family. May she rest in peace. Visitation is Sunday 4-6 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Monday 10 AM at St John’s Church Lakehurst with a private cremation to follow.
