Edward J. Kovacs, 84, of Leisure Knoll section of Manchester, died Friday, March 12, 2021 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Perth Amboy, he had resided in Woodbridge & Pennsylvania before moving to Manchester 21 years ago. He worked for the Woodbridge Township Waste Water Department for 40 years retiring in 1995 as the Superintendent. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, & loved spending time with family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia (King) Kovacs; son and daughter in law, Edward J. Jr. & Dawn Kovacs; daughter and son in law, Kathy & Paul Piotrowski; sister, Helen Kurucz; 4 grandchildren: Eric McKee, Edward J. Kovacs III, Kelly Holden, & Danny Kovacs; and 6 great grandchildren. Cremation will be private. Inurnment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, at a later date.
