Obituary for Douglas W Worrell

Douglas W. Worrell 48 of Toms River died suddenly on January 20, 2021 at the Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Elizabeth, he lived for most of his life in Hillside before moving to Toms River in 1999. He was employed by the Abbey Glenn Pet Cemetery, in Lafayette for 20 years. Afterwards, he was employed by N.J. Transit, Bay Head as a Carman/Rail Mechanic for the last 6 years. He loved spending time with family, cooking, and simply helping others. He also enjoyed camping and was a very gifted man, musically. Douglas is a man, that touched everyone he met and will never be forgotten and neither will his sense of humor. He knew how to light up the entire room. He is predeceased by his father, William A. Worrell, who died in 1999. Surviving is his daughter, Kylie Worrell, his lifelong partner, Rebecca Worrell, his mother, Carol Deans- Heiser of Belews Creek, NC, his brother, Ian Worrell of Toms River, 2 sisters, Kara Worrell of Jacksonville, FL, Kristin Worrell of Salisbury, NC and many nieces and nephews, Memorial Gathering will be Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester with a funeral service being offered at 7:30 pm.
