Obituary for Dolores I Guilfoyle

Dolores I. Guilfoyle, age 86 of Manchester, died Sunday May 15, 2022. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, she was born in Newark, grew up in Kearney, raised her family in Old Bridge, and ultimately moved to the Renaissance community in Manchester 16 years ago. Dolores loved to shop and cook. Her turkey stuffing was infamous with her family, as well as her stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers, stews and sauces. When not caring for her family, Dolores enjoyed many part-time jobs including working at a clothing store, as an office clerk, and a school bus aid. She spent her spare time reading, solving puzzles and word searches on her iPad and cell phone, and enjoyed listening to "Make the World Go Away" by Eddie Arnold and Kenny Rogers songs. By far, Dolores’s greatest joy was spending time with her loving family – especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her world and brought much joy to her, as she did to them.Dolores is predeceased by her husband, Frank Edward in 1987, and her brother, Richard Bruning. Surviving are her 3 daughters and sons-in-laws: Diane & Dennis Fitzpatrick, Judy & Tom Consiglio, and Susan & David Polhemus, 8 grandchildren: Danielle, Michelle, Katlyn, Kelsey, Melanie, Kyle, Jonathan and Samantha and 3 great grandchildren: Jayne, Liam, Mila & 2 great granddaughters due soon, and dearest friend Elizabeth Curley. Visitation is Thursday 8:30-10:00 AM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Thursday 10:30 AM at St Luke Church, Toms River with interment to follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick.
