It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Dion J. Torakis, 50 of Toms River, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed by many. Dion was Born in Brooklyn, NY. He lived in Florida before moving to Toms River 41 years ago.

He was employed for 23 years with Johnson’s Restaurant Equipment, Neptune, NJ, as a Sales and Design Consultant. He was the son in law of the owner, Bob Johnson. Dion’s customers all turned out to be his friends. He will be sorely missed by Ed Sasso, Chris Hughes, Betsy McLaughlin, Carl Edwards, and the rest of Johnson’s Restaurant Equipment crew.

He is predeceased by his brother, Peter Michael Torakis, 2001 and his father, Pete Torakis, 2015. Surviving is his lifetime best friend and loving wife of 18 years, Denise (Marchese) Torakis, his mother, Joan Torakis of Toms River, his in-laws, Gail & Robert Johnson, his brother, Spero Torakis and wife, Farrah of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and many nieces and nephews, Zachary Michael, Spero Michael, Peter James, Peyton, Ava, Jessie James and Theo, Sister-in-law, Faith Baker and brother in laws, Joseph Marchese Michael Marchese, and Bobby Johnson, as well as many beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. He will be truly missed by his four-legged daughter, Bella Mia, stepchildren, Peanut Butter and Cooper and his furry son Max.
