Obituary for Dana Dell'Olio

Dana M. Dell’Olio, 43, of Toms River died suddenly at her home on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Born in Newark, Dana resided in Howell, Brick, Lakewood, and briefly Orlando, FL, before moving to Toms River 14 years ago. She was a certified phlebotomist by profession. Dana’s family and friends always enjoyed being in her company because of the way she made everyone feel welcomed. Dana enjoyed cooking and sharing her love through her food. She hosted holiday’s every year that brought the family together to share in that love. Dana also enjoyed reading and spending time with her girls at the beach. Her children were her world and the love she had for them was unconditional. Dana always made an effort to be close to everyone regardless of their background. She was known to always put others before herself. Her friends often speak of how contagious her smile was and the way she would light up a room. Dana was the one person friends would confide in as she made everyone feel comfort and as if they were speaking in a "no judgement zone". As for work, Dana adored her patients - so much so that she would end up hanging out with them all day rather than doing her job! That was just the person she was. Dana is predeceased by her father, Aurelio Marrero. She is survived by her mother and step father, Marie Caponetto and Gabriel Caponetto; her teenage daughters, Gabriella and Annalina; her brother, Gabriel; and her nephew, Cameron, as well as extended family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dana’s family unit may have seemed non-traditional from the outside. The bond she had with her best friend, Brian Ferrara, and her former husband, Lee T. Dell’Olio, was no different than that of a large extended family. These relationships were the glue that kept the family together for her girls. Also surviving are Lee's sister's, Shara and Chrissy, her husband Aaron, and their son Aaron Jr. Dana still kept close ties with Lee's mother Lorraine, and Angela aka "Gram". Visitation will be held at Oliverie Funeral Home at 2925 Ridgeway Rd in Manchester on Thursday (12/10), from 6-8 PM. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday (12/11) at 9:15 AM at St. Luke Church in Toms River, with interment to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). https://www.chop.edu/giving/get-involved/how-make-gift
