Obituary for Cornelius John Broderick

Cornelius J. Broderick, 85, of Cedar Glen Lakes section of Whiting, died suddenly, Saturday, April 3, 2021 at home. Born in Hudson County, he had resided most of his life in Hoboken and Jersey City before moving to Manchester Twp 20 years ago. He served in the US Navy before settling down and raising a family. He was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. One of his favorite places was Harmony Ridge Campgrounds in Branchville NJ where had a trailer for 25 years. He and his wife Trudy also loved road trips to Florida in their RV. He had 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren which he adored and loved spending time with them all. He was predeceased by his parents: Cornelius J. Broderick & mother: Gertrude (Lagomarsini) Broderick, brothers: John and Bobby and his son: Thomas Broderick. He is survived by his wife: Gertrude “Trudy” Broderick; sons: Cornelius Broderick Jr, Patrick & Stacey Broderick; daughter: Diane Rovatsos; stepson: Jimmy Broderick; sisters: Maureen Cruz & Julie Gutierrez. Cremation will be private. Memorial Gathering will be Wednesday, from 2-6pm at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, with a service at 4pm.
