Obituary for Carmelo "Carmen" Guastella

Carmelo “Carmen” Guastella, 93, of Renaissance, Manchester, died Friday, May 20, 2022 at Holy Family Senior Living, Bethlehem, PA. Born in Hackensack, he had resided in Washington Township for 35 years before moving to Manchester in 1997. Carmen was a self-employed barber for over 50 years and was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of UNICO National and various Barber Associations. He enjoyed woodworking, home improvements, building furniture & cabinetry, hardscaping & landscaping, bonsai plants, and had a great ability for attention to detail crafting dollhouse furniture pieces, as well as full size furniture pieces. Carmen was predeceased by his brother, Mike Guastella. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Mary (Calcagno) Guastella; sons: John Guastella, and Michael & his wife, Laurie Guastella; daughters: Deborah & her husband, Dave Trempel, and Denise & her husband, Jeff Rehling; brother: Frank Guastella; and 12 grandchildren: Daniel, Michelle, Bethany, Stephen, Marlo, Cali, Lena, Reno, Alexa, Jake, Krista, & Samantha. Visitation is Tuesday, 5-8 pm, at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Wednesday, 10 am, at St. Joseph Church, Toms River. Entombment will follow to Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover.
