Obituary for Brett Thomas O'Donnell

Brett Thomas O’Donnell was a proud father and devoted husband. He loved his family with his whole heart. His generosity, thoughtfulness and kindness made him incredibly easy to love. He fought through opposition and struggles with ambition and his faith in the Lord. Ever the comedian, he had the ability to light up a room with his quick wit and charm, a trait he has generously passed down to his beautiful little girl. He was released into the arms of our Savior feeling loved, blessed, healed, at peace and finally free. Always optimistic about his beloved Dallas Cowboys, he was an avid sports fan all around. Brett had a profound athletic career that he was very proud of earning many awards & honors over the years starting with Manchester Pop Warner, Manchester Little League, & LMSA Soccer. Brett then moved to Toms River where he played the Striker position for TRSA Revolution traveling soccer team, and Shooting guard for TRBA, Toms River Wolfpack, Toms River Ice & Jersey Shore Warriors AAU basketball teams, moving onto Toms River Intermediate East Rockets Soccer & Basketball, and finally Toms River High School East Raiders Varsity Soccer & Basketball where he earned All Shore conference, All county, & All state honors in soccer his Junior & Senior years, along with leading the conference in goals with 22 his junior year and earning the captain & MVP awards his senior year. He served in the US NAVY from 2008-2017. He graduated from Ashford University with his B.A. in Business while also pursuing his certification in addiction counseling. He always said he wanted to help others like those who have helped him. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Tania O’Donnell, daughter, Olivia R. O’Donnell, Parents Philip P.
