Bernard Joseph Bialecki age 79 of Manchester Township, NJ died at home surrounded by family members on Monday, February 15, 2021. He was born in 1941 to Bernard and Julia Bialecki in Passaic, NJ and had one sister, Barbara. Bernie played Football for Pope Pius XII High School. He served as Co-Captain his senior year. Bernie earned his BS Degree in teaching & history from Eastern Montana University in Billings, MT. Bernie taught World and US History and coached cross country, track, and basketball in Plentywood MT. He then moved back east. He married the love of his life, Betty Jean Pollack, on July 6, 1969. They settled in Toms River, NJ. in 1971, later moving to Manchester, NJ in 2002. Bernie continued to teach history and coach at Admiral Farragut High School in Bayville, NJ, for some years. He ended his teaching career at East Orange High School, NJ where he retired in 2006. Bernie volunteered his time coaching softball, baseball, and basketball for the Toms River youth leagues while his children were young. He also was an avid bowler, bottle collector and model train enthusiast. He loved to find a treasure and enjoyed selling at local flea markets. Surviving him are his wife of 51.5 years, Betty Jean; son, Jason Bernard Bialecki married to wife Deborah and their 4 children Benjamin, Elizabeth, Carolyn, and Caitlyn; and his daughter Stacey Lynn Rijkse married to Walter and their 2 children Jordan and Savannah. Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday February 20th at 10 AM at St John’s Church, Lakehurst, NJ with inurnment to follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
