Barbara A Sakowski 80 of Manchester died Sunday May 22, 2022 at home with her family. Born in Bronx, NY she resided in Union City from 1960-1985 and then Lakewood for 18 years before moving to Manchester in 2007. She owned and operated her own floral design center, Silks by Barbara in Union City for 10 years before retiring in 1985. She was an active member of the Leisure Village West Garden Club and their publicist, Players Club as costume designer and the Chair for Residence Service. She was a fabulous interior designer, loved to garden and sew. She is predeceased by her husband Vincent in 2007. Surviving is her son, Donald H Elmendorf & wife, Joan, daughter, Darlene Dispoto & her husband William, 3 siblings, Thomas, Robert and Mary McCormack and 4 grandchildren, Nicole, Megan, Christopher & Dana and 4 great grandchildren, Alexis, Lucas, Emma & Gabe. Visitation is Thursday 4-8 PM with a 6 PM service at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Interment is Friday 10 AM at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
