Obituary for Arthur F Hugi

Arthur F Hugi 91 of Manchester died Friday March 25, 2022 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Long Island City, NY he resided in Old Bridge from 1958-1991 where he raised his three children with his loving wife Dolores before moving to Manchester 31 years ago. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS NJ. He was a Train Conductor for Amtrak at Grand Central Station, NY for 42 years before retiring in 1990. Arthur was a storyteller and especially enjoyed talking about his travels to different countries while he served in the Navy. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing with his son, Mark. His favorite hobby was gardening with his wife and he took great pride in his pristine lawn. He enjoyed going to Yankee baseball games and amusement parks with his children. His favorite vacation was when he took his children to Disneyworld. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Dolores E, son, Mark Arthur Hugi & his wife Linda, daughters, Lenore Weichel and husband Vincent and Elizabeth Anderson & husband Tom and 7 grandchildren, Mark II, Matthew, Ashton, Michael, Kelly, Nicholas & Gillian and 2 great grandchildren, Christian & Grace. Memorial Gathering is 11- 1 pm Saturday April 2, 2022 at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester.
