Obituary for Arthur J Buerkle Jr

Arthur J Buerkle Jr. 93 of Brick died Sunday March 20, 2022. Born in Irvington, raised in Keansburg and resided in Middletown for 40 years with his wife before moving to Manchester in 1994 and Brick 2 years ago. He served as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War as a medic from 1953-1955. He also served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the Leisure Knoll Veterans Club and Knights of Columbus Council #10022. He was a volunteer Fireman for the Keansburg & Old Village Fire Company, Middletown. He enjoyed antique cars, boating, RVing and Atlantic City. He was a devoted husband for almost 70 years before his wife, Jean Buerkle passed away in 2020. Surviving is his son, John Buerkle & wife Karen and daughter, Mary Buerkle & wife Laurie and 4 grandchildren, Lindsey & husband Henry, Devin & husband Chuck, Ian & wife Jenn and Maddy and 4 great grandchildren, Charlie, Liam, Declan & Ava. Visitation is Friday 2-5 PM at Oliverie funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Saturday 10 AM at St Dominic’s Church, Brick with an inurnment on Wednesday 1:30 PM at Brigadier Gen Wm C Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the NJ State Firemen’s Association 1711 Rt#34 S, Wall, NJ 07727.
