Obituary for Antoinette L Lombardi

Antoinette L. Lombardi, 97, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Born and raised in Orange, NJ, Toni, as she was known by family and friends, also raised her family there before moving to Manchester, NJ. After graduating from Orange High School, she worked at Prudential and later Lehn and Fink. She left the working world to become a full-time homemaker to her beloved husband, Armand, and their 3 children. She was an active member of St Venantius Church and School in Orange, organizing numerous activities in support of both. She later used her organizational skills to do billing for a doctor’s office. As a young girl, Toni had a passion for fashion design. She was a wonderful seamstress, sewing her own and her children’s clothes. She loved doing crafts, particularly needlepoint, embroidery and crocheting, and served as secretary of her community’s craft club for a number of years along with being an Ocean County RSVP volunteer. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family – she was a wonderful mother and grandmother - always with a smile and a loving heart. Toni was a loving partner to her beloved husband, Armand, who predeceased her in 2013, and shared a special, loving bond with her sister, Rita, who predeceased her in 2010. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted children, Phyllis Wooster, Nicholas Lombardi, Janet Smith and her husband Tom, five grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Kelly, Kristen and Emma, three great-grandchildren and her childhood friend, Jeanne, who was like a sister to her. Visitation is Sunday, 2 – 6 p.m. at the Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Monday, 11 a.m., at St. John’s Church, Lakehurst with entombment to follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Foundation Fighting Blindness (fightingblindness.org).
